Open House Event

Yesterday was an eventful day for us at the winery. We started selling our first wine, a Pinot Grigio from a vineyard in the southern end of Chiles Valley. This is a sub AVA just to the East of the Napa valley. The wine opens up with notes of pear on the nose. It has a crisp mid palate with some citrus. It has a lingering finish of tropical fruits. A nice wine to enjoy with cheese like an Asiago or just sipping while you are relaxing with a good book. Several of our good friends showed up to help us celebrate the release of our first wine. Thank you all. I would like to especially thank my brother Mitch who flew in from Michigan to help us pour. It was quite a surprise to turn around and see him there standing in front of me.

Russian Ridge Winery was started in 2008

Russian Ridge Winery was started in 2008. We had plans to build our winery on our home site. Finally in early 2011 we decided we needed to find a place to make our wines. We were accepted as one of the Alternating Proprieters @ Rock Wall Winery. We share space with 7 other wineries. We are a family owned two generation winery. We only make small lot single vineyard wines.

Our First WIne

We bottled our first wine on Tuesday. A Pinot Grigio from Lower Chiles Valley in the Napa AVA. We produced 125 cases. Our friends Valerie and Steve Jones, Spence, Joan and I spent the day at the winery bottling. We helped another winery we share space with bottle their wine. Total cases bottled for the day was just under 700. We will be pouring @ the Rockwall Winery open house event on April 28th. Rockwall is our host winery. 2301 Monarch St. Alameda, CA. The event is from 1pm to 5pm.http://www.rockwallwines.com/events
