Come on over to the coast, do some good and have a great time while your at it. Proceeds from the Festival directly support the art, music, and science programs at Bonny Doon Elementary School.

We will not be pouring at the winery this Saturday the 21st. We will be open Sunday the 22nd and the following weekend 28th and 29th.

We will be open Friday evening the 27th for  tasting and wine  by the glass. Stop by, have a glass of wine and relax a little. Head over to Devils Canyon Brewery for a beer and some fine tunes. Grab some grindage at  the food trucks. Wander back to close out the evening with another glass of wine and unwind with your wine out on the winery patio. By a bottle for the table with your friends.

We are excited to announce that Russian Ridge Winery has been awarded a Gold medal for our 2011 Concerto. This Concerto is a Santa Cruz Mountains AVA Bordeaux style blend of 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Cabernet Franc, 13% Merlot with 1% each of Petite Verdot and Malbec.

We were awarded a Silver for our 2011 Petite Sirah. This wine comes from Roadrunner Farms down in Paso Robles. Bob Pettis is a grower that has as much passion about his vines as we have for our wines. He makes sure they have all the proper nutrients to produce exceptional fruit. We think he succeeds every year with outstanding grapes. We are proud to produce wines from his vineyard.

We were also awarded a Silver for our 2011 Merlot. This is a wine made from fruit that enjoys the heat of southern Santa Clara Valley and cool nights due to the evening ocean breezes off of Monterey Bay coming up the Salinas Valley. Mike Mann is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to growing grapes. He has helped me immensely with our vineyard here at home.
Stop by on the weekend of the 18th and 19th and taste these fine wines. Pick up a couple of Passports. Then tour around your own backyard here in the Santa Cruz Mountains to enjoy the hand crafted wines made from Santa Cruz mountain fruit. See ya soon!

We have joined the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Assoc. We will be open on our fourth weekend of the month Dec. 28th and 29th. We invite every one to stop by and enjoy some holiday cheer. We will be pouring our Pinot Grigio. Come and enjoy some great wines, views and tasty bites.

Last Friday I racked the 2011 Napa Chardonnay to tank for fining. We plan on bottling  this wine on the first Wednesday of September.  This particular chardonnay we first sourced in 2004 from a vineyard on Berry Lane in Napa.  Our next vintage with fruit  from these  same vines was in 2009.

We have great news to share with all our friends. We are moving our winery from Rockwall Winery in Alameda  to Cuvee Winery in San Carlos. We are very happy at Rockwall, but our commute to Cuvee is only 0.5 hrs vs 1.25 hrs and a bridge. Our access to the wine will be much improved.

We will be having a Grand Opening  on Aug. 12th with the other five wineries. Tell your friends and come on over to have a good time and enjoy some fine wines. The FREE event runs from 1pm to 5pm on the 12th of Aug. Here is a link to the host winery:

Russian Ridge Winery

A Pinot Grigio from Lower Chiles Valley in the Napa Valley AVA. We produced 125 cases with the help of our friends, spending the day at the winery bottling. In addition, we helped another winery, that Russian Ridge shares space with, to bottle their wine for a total of just under 700 cases bottled for the day.
